Wig Shop Window

Wig Shop Window

When I was but a young one
I used to ride my bike downtown
One store in particular
Always caught my eye

The shop with all the pretty wigs
Behind the glass they sat
On faceless heads looking back at me
Wishing I would take one home

My grandmother had such a pretty wig
Bought from the little shop
When I'd get a chance I'd put it on
And stand before her mirror

The head looking back at me now had a face
It felt so good to see myself
I would ride back by the little shop
Wishing I could take one home
